Scholarship

TRTA awards scholarships annually for $1,000 each.  We especially want to encourage students who are going into any field of education to apply for one of these non-renewable scholarships although we do not limit the awards to just education majors. Money is generated for the scholarships through member donations and fund raisers.  The Scholarship winners are honored at the June Luncheon.

TRTA has awarded over 90 scholarships for a total of $62,000 to students.

The Trumbull Retired Teachers Association Scholarship is now accepting scholarship applications for 2023 through the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. Online submissions are due by end of day March 1, 2024, and award/declination notifications will be provided to applicants by the end of June 2024.

Reminder! Students complete one common application to be considered for multiple scholarship opportunities at the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.  Based on the applicant’s responses to a set of standard questions, CFMV’s system will determine which scholarships the applicant is eligible for. The applicant will be immediately notified of which scholarships they will be considered for, and may be prompted to provide additional information necessary for certain scholarships.
